I don’t know if it’s a deluxe apartment in the sky, but I have moved up! My apartment is in one of the many high rises here. I live on the 11th floor, which is actually the 12th to us in the States, because they start the ground floor with 0, not 1. This is very important to remember when taking the elevator.
We do have a great view of the city. Check out pictures on photobucket to get the grand tour of the place. We have had some problems. We didn’t have hot water the first two days. But a cold shower really helps jet lag! Currently our washing machine is not working. Still have several more days of clean clothes though.
My roommate calls Arizona in the states home, but really her heart is in Korea. She served in South Korea for 6 years. She is very nice. She’s a September baby too. She’ll be the first in our group to celebrate her birthday. I will actually have the apartment to myself for 2 months. Beth is going to be staying with a family’s children while the parents are home in the states raising support.
We are next door to a grocery store. And also next door to a mosque. We put out our trash in the hall before 8 pm each day to be picked up. That’s a nice perk to apartment living. My room is a little small, but it serves its purpose. The living room on the other hand is very large. We have two balconies. One is enclosed with glass windows. The other is open, but we just covered it with fishnet, because there is a large pigeon problem. Most people have their balconies covered in a similar manner.
We have three bedrooms, so one is open for visitors! We’ll leave the light on for you!
