Senior Trip

This is my class. Teachers of course are not supposed to have favorites, but this class has had a special place in my heart since I came four years ago. Of the seven seniors I have taught all of them for at least three years, and three of them for all four years. We lost six members of this class over the past year and a half. I love all of my classes and each of them have their own personalities, but this is the class that I really connect with. I constantly find myself over sharing with them, that started back when they were ninth graders. Individually and collectively, they are a great group. When I think about leaving, saying goodbye to them is one of the hardest things I'll have to do. The good news is that the majority will be in America next year; we have plans to meet up.

We just returned from their senior trip. We went to the Mediterranean Coast in Turkey for five days, four nights. We flew to Antalya, then drove to Olympos where we spent our first night. The following day we drove to Fethiye and stayed in Ölüdeniz for the remainder of the time. We had a sailboat for a day which was wonderful. The boat cruised along, stopping in coves where we could swim. The trip was so much fun. I had a great time on the senior trip last year as well, but this one was even more special to me, because of the class. The Lawrences were the other chaperones, and they are some of my favorite people as well. What a great job I have, getting to spend time with these kids and hang out on the beach! Why am I leaving again? :)
