Birthdays & Packages

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and thoughts! It was a really good day. Check out the pictures on http://photobucket.com/albums/y145/CDeLong/Birthday/
The teachers decorated my room and we had cake in the morning. The kids were great. They are all so positive here! That evening we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Which was very good for Turks doing Mexican. And it's always nice to see a new part of town. They brought out a cake with candles and sparklers! It was really pretty, though a little unsafe. It's so funny the Turks have different meanings of safety here. We then came back to the apartment for ice cream and birthday cookie.

Sending mail here: Just a few words of advice. It takes two to three weeks for letters. Use the below address for everything. The school is the most reliable place to send things. If you want to send a package use the padded envelopes you can get at places like Walmart, and keep them the same size or smaller than 9"x12". At the post office in the states it's one rate for anything under 4 pounds. The rate goes up over 4 pounds and goes up again for anything over 7 pounds. So just keep that in mind. Thanks for all the prayers about my boxes. They still have not arrived. I'm hoping they're coming soon! We think someone must be having a big party with all my stuff in Istanbul! But I love mail, so please write. It costs eighty cents to send a letter overseas.
